The first order to sailing the world and exploring the vast oceans and seas is to learn how to swim, sail, and then get a boat! As with anything, one must start with the baby steps and slowly take sail from there.
I’ve been swimming and sailing for years and am finally ready to graduate to the boat owner. Although it is said that the two best days of a sailor’s life are the day they buy their boat and the day they sell their boat, so maybe I shouldn’t be so excited about ownership of my very first boat. However, I say let those who say what they will, and I shall continue to do what makes me happy! As long as it doesn’t hurt anyone, then it’s okay.
My boat is going to be made from a single piece of wood to signify how we all come into the world as we are and how we can each adjust what we have to mold and make it work best for ourselves.
The bit of wood has a few scrapes, scars, and cracks, but I’m just going to enhance those to show how our “flaws” make us beautiful and unique. After all, the cracks are where the light shines through!
I’m very excited to see what ends up happening.
That’s the best part of starting a new adventure. You never know where you’ll end up!
